Senior Home Heating Subsidy

The Senior Home Heating Subsidy provides financial assistance to seniors to help them pay for the cost of heating their homes.

Seniors may be eligible to receive a set amount of either wood, oil, propane, gas, and/or electricity depending on household income and the community in which they live.

Who is the program for?

Northerners who:

·         Are residents of the Northwest Territories

·         Are 60 years of age or older

·         Own and live in their own home

·         Meet a household income test

How to Apply

An application form Senior Home Heating Subsidy Application must be completed, and proof of age, total household income, and proof of homeownership must be provided to a local ECE Service Centre
